To conduct pollution prevention assessments at six volunteer manufacturing companies to assist in identifying opportunities to reduce discharges and environmental impacts.

To support the proposal entitled, Quinnipiac River:  Point Source White Paper which would bring together information on all current discharges into the River, rank them by volume of toxic materials discharged, etc.

To provide a more accurate estimate of point and nonpoint source loading of organic and inorganic nitrogen to the Quinnipiac River.

To complete the development of a chemical tracer technique for identifying nonpoint sources of pollution.

To sample and analyze food fish from the Quinnipiac and Mill Rivers for toxic organic and inorganic contaminants.

To research and analyze the issue of river pollution by landfill leacheates in the Quinnipiac Watershedd, to plan Y begin implementation of "stream team" bio-assessment in two watershed sub-basins, & to improve office as a resource center.

To measure the quantity of bioavailable toxic forms of dissolved heavy metals in the QR seasonally and during storm events.

To establish a comprehensive multi- disciplinary watershed planning initiative to improve the quality of the environment in the QR Watershed.

To establish an individual as the primary point person to be an advocate for clean water and to address local pollution problems using Soundkeeper.
