Projects

To help design and build a bicycle/hiking bridge over the Quinnipiac River.

To conduct pollution prevention assessments at six volunteer manufacturing companies to assist in identifying opportunities to reduce discharges and environmental impacts.

To purchase a 16.8 acre parcel along the Quinnipiac River to encourage the use of the property for recreational and educational purposes.

To plan an initial layout for an active inear trail along the Quinnipiac River corridor, initially through Wallingford from boarder to boarder, eventually connecting with other towns along the river.

To continue to develop the Stream Team volunteer water quality monitoring programs as a force for river conservation, and to further analyze data collected in both 1998-1999 grant years.

To conduct restoration of its 9.4 acre parcel along the Quinnipiac River to remove rubble and debris degrading tidal wetland on the parcel.

To build a new touchtank at the East Shore Park Ranger Station at Lighthouse Point Park & to develop printed materials.

For a yearround sampling of various species to estimate incidences of erythrocyte micronucleation to evaluate effects on health fish.

To start an "Adopt the River" program and to continue a lecture series.

To evaluate road salt management and application practices; correlate problems and recommend future action.
