to support the improvement of public access to the Quinnipiac River by clearing, cleaning up, and maintaining the Blue Trail along the river's west bank in the Quinnipiac River State Park.

to support the Be the Solution to Pollution project which raises awareness of how pollution threatens the health of humans, animals, and the environment along the Quinnipiac River.

To support signage which will include a trail map and information about the natural history and historical aspects of the area for the Phase III section of the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail which will extend 1.25 miles northward from the current terminus of the Trail at the Wilbur Cross Parkway underpass.

To support the review of Cytec's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) water permit for discharges into the Quinnipiac River and see if there have been any violations of their permit during this year or during the past 5 years.

To support the Biodiversity and Impacts of Drift Algae in the New Haven Harbor study, which will continue to assess habitat structure and species diversity in New Haven Harbor, and to investigate the dynamics and potential impacts of extensive drift algal mats that have been found in portions of the harbor.

To support wetland mapping and surveying services which are critical components to acquiring easements from private property owners along the proposed trail route on the eastern banks of the Quinnipiac River in North Haven.

To support the assessment of the condition of macrofaunal communities in New Haven Harbor relative to selected environmental factors and the structure of the Harbor's benthic habitats. A comparison of the results will be made to available previous information to assess any long-term changes.

Funds are requested to support the continuation of measuring elevation change and water levels in the Quinnipiac River marshes in efforts to understand the rate and causes  of marsh drowning (conversion to mudflat) that has been observed there.

To support the development and adoption of an intermunicipal agreement with the lower river towns regarding land use guidelines and tax sharing.
