Projects

To retain services to photograph the Quinnipiac River from New Haven to Wallingford.  The photos will be used by RGP, Yale University Coastal and Watershed Study Center, and the University of New Haven for academic, economic development and planning purposes.  The parties will be using the information for public education about the marshes and the interrelationships with the marsh.  RGP will be utilizing the photos to assist in the implementation of the Quinnipiac River Conservation and Development Corridor project (QRCDC).

To build a new touchtank at the East Shore Park Ranger Station at Lighthouse Point Park & to develop printed materials.

To organize the community that live in NH QRiver section to learn about the river & establish a permanent advocacy group.

To continue research on the utilization of sunlight for the destruction of toxic water pollutants.

To involve inner city youth in learning about and protecting the marine environment.

Research on tidal wetland plants in the Quinnipiac River estuary related to wetland restoration.

To develop a geographical information system database for the Quinnipiac River Watershed.

To conduct a survey that would evaluate the occurrence of several metals, esp. silver, in oyster & sediments in the Quinnipiac River estuary.

To conduct a survey of the content of heavy metals in the wood, bark, and leaf litter of woody plant species in southern part of Quinnipiac River
