to support the study of bioaccumulation of heavy metals in Asian clams (Corbicula fluminea) collected from segments of the Quinnipiac River influenced by municipal wastewater treatment plant effluent discharges.

To continue monitoring vegetation change and mudflat development in the Quinnipiac River brackish marshes, and begin to test hypothesized causes for the observed wetland loss.  To complete a nitrogen and trace metal analyses and begin to assess how marsh loss has affected the load of pollutants to the river.

To make 20 more copies of the Quinnipiac River Report on the water quality of the river.

To support the project 'Symposium on Point Source Pollution and Toxic Legacies in the Quinnipiac River'.

To study the biological impoverishment of the Lower Quinnipiac River.

To support the proposal entitled, Quinnipiac River:  Point Source White Paper which would bring together information on all current discharges into the River, rank them by volume of toxic materials discharged, etc.

To complete the development of a chemical tracer technique for identifying nonpoint sources of pollution.

To measure the quantity of bioavailable toxic forms of dissolved heavy metals in the QR seasonally and during storm events.

To conduct a survey that would evaluate the occurrence of several metals, esp. silver, in oyster & sediments in the Quinnipiac River estuary.

To conduct a survey of the content of heavy metals in the wood, bark, and leaf litter of woody plant species in southern part of Quinnipiac River
