to support installing and improving public access to the Quinnipiac River in conjunction with Phase III of the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail Project in collaboration with the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail Advisory Committee.

to support increasing capacity of the organization, sponsoring public events to focus attention on the lower Quinnipiac and urban rivers of Greater New Haven, and implementing certain recommendations from the Urban River Permits Project to reduce polluted runoff.

To support environmental advocacy, particularly through raising awareness of new federal phosphorus requirements for the lower Quinnipiac River.

To provide general operating support for fostering awareness of environmental issues of the Quinnipiac River and promoting activities that safeguard the health of residents that use the Quinnipiac River.

To support the "A Fair Haven for Wildlife: Community-based land stewardship to benefit wildlife and waterways" project, in partnership with the Urban Resources Initiative.

To support water testing of the Quinnipiac estuary and New Haven Harbor for contaminants and evaluation of abnormal reproductive development of the blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) by endocrine disrupting compounds.

To support the Safe Grounds Campaign to reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of toxic lawn pesticides in the Quinnipiac River watershed and throughout Connecticut.

To support recruitment and training for residents in each of the river municipalities to become advocates on behalf of the Quinnipiac River in order to participate in public meetings on the upcoming Quinnipiac Watershed Action Plan Update of 2012 and to support the completion of the Lower Quinnipiac River Canoeable Trail and the Town of North Haven canoe launch to access the new trail.

To support the education of fishers on safe consumption of fish from the Quinnipiac River and work with the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to ensure fish signage is posted in the area in appropriate languages as well as support an exchange program where Quinnipiac River fishers can trade their lead weights for non-lead weights.

To support consultant/professional work required to support the definition and granting of land easements from private property owners along the river where the intended route of the trail is located.
