In the 115-acre marsh area studied, 42 acres were converted from marsh vegetation into mudflat between 1974 and 2000 at an average loss rate of 1.6 acres per year, indicating that mudflat currently occupies approximately 36% of the site.

Of the 16 facilities discharging into the river under the NPDES permit program, there were relatively few permit violations. However, easy access to permit discharge information prevents public knowledge about pollutants in the river and enroucages the status quo rather than the lowering of pullutant concentrations.
